About Me It all started with a large stack of guitar magazines. As a teenager, Dan would tear out photos of his favorite guitar players and plaster them to his bedroom wall. During his nearly 10-year stint as a photojournalist for The Dispatch, Dan continued to combine his love for music and photography. Dan shot the likes of The Black Crowes, Rage Against the Machine, Van Halen, Little Feat, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Buddy Guy and The Flaming Lips. In 2007, Dan discovered his true passion was not photographing people on-stage but rather behind-the-scenes. Dan was hired as a staff photographer for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential campaign. He documented both the former Secretary of State and President Bill Clinton during campaign stops across the country. Today, Dan lives in Kansas City, where he focuses on marketing, advertising and editorial photography. His clients include: YRC Freight, Smithfield Foods, Dairy Farmers of America, Applebee’s, BNIM Architects, CDW Corporation, HCA Midwest, Meredith Corporation and several colleges and universities in the Midwest. Beyond his client work, Dan has traveled to Romania and The Philippines with The Medical Missions Foundation to document surgeries and an American-run orphanage. He focuses his personal projects on foreign travels and smaller and rural towns around the Midwest, including Joplin following the 2011 tornado. When he's not shooting, Dan continues to play the guitar and spend time with his wife and two little ones.
